Mechanism of Action
Arthrosamid provides physical cushioning and lubrication within the joint. Recent research suggests it also produces an anti-inflammatory effect by upregulating IL1-RA in joint fluid, which helps block pain and swelling pathways.
Efficacy
Clinical studies have demonstrated significant improvements in pain, function, and quality of life for at least 12 months. WOMAC scores improved markedly from baseline to 12 months (from 45.7 to 21.9), with a 76% response rate at 6 months.
Safety and Side Effects
Most side effects are mild and transient, including arthralgia (joint pain) and swelling. Arthrosamid does not cause joint damage and is considered safe for longer-term use.
